The electricity consumed by typical production IT gear is the most costly monthly expense; often consuming more electricity than the IT gear is worth (new) before the first year of ownership. Even if it is a 60-amp Servertech PDU, and powering 3 IBM H-Blades, the electricity at full computational load is tremendous, and expensive. It is reasonable to assume that more money, in electricity, will be spent in the first month of powering that connected IT gear than the initial CAPEX of the PDU. Given the unprecedented dependability of Servertech PDU's, there is virtually no close second when choosing a rack PDU.
